Man, gotta love that country. As a team so close to the German border, we are quite familiar with the German language and with Ronny Gätjen as our translator, our period in Switzerland became so, so good.
After starting of our season in our very first Monte Rosa Tour, where Anousone Keovilay simply shined with a 3rd place overall and several stage results, the Laos big men just kept on going. 2nd in Ascona - Ascona, second in a short stop at Race to the Wall to then return in style with a second place in Altdorf Grand Prix.
Of course these second places are a bit troubling, as we would like to get some real wins, but at least they push us up the standings in a way we never did before. Petrescu even finalized our period in Switzerland with a nice TT win at Kesch Peak Climb, a good start to this Top form period, in which he hopes to shine in his first opportunity in the Russian Perm Tour. With new addition Josef Huijbregs as part of the crew, we have very high expectations for this one. Is Petrescu too old? Or can he still do it?
Halfway through the season, we already improved on our season best of all but one season, which was the grand season of Petrescu in which he won RotM. (770 points). A notable fact, Petrescu also won Kesch Peak Climb in this season/ On our way to this season's achievement 535 points we did the following:
Climbs of Omeo - 6th place by Tjeerd Reniers
Oslo GP mini - 4th place by Theodoor Clarijs
Bern - Lausanne - 6th place by Anousone Keovilay
Lausanne - Monte Rosa - 1st place by Anousone Keovilay
Lugano - St. Moritz - 3rd place by Anousone Keovilay
Monte Rosa Tour - 3rd place by Anousone Keovilay
Ascona - Ascona - 2nd place by Anousone Keovilay
Altdorf Grand Prix - 2nd place by Anousone Keovilay
Race to the Wall - 6th place by Anousone Keovilay
Kesch Peak Climb - 1st place by Roman Petrescu
